Task Focused UI - Linked Cognos reports opening in old Cognos viewer interface

With the upgrade to Cognos Analytics 11, one of the main functionalities is with report interactivity. OpenPages integration with Cognos is still using the pre-Cognos Analytics method and many of the new features do not run eg. Filters.

Looking in the CommandCenter_Redirect.jsp, there appears to be a check to see if the CognosTool parameter has been set to "CognosAnalytics" instead of "CognosViewer" (the default). However, the CognosTool parameter on the Report Redirect template in OPX is not available to select from in the OpenWith drop down. It looks like this is missing from the file - or a new template is needed to use it. There is a Cognos Analytics template that can be used but this is just to open the product itself, not to run a report.

Yes,  Many new features  in interactivity and 11.1 visualizations are also not support in Cognos Classic viewer.
